The Latin Fusion Trio is known for its exotic rhythms, highly skilled coordination and masterful guitar work. Members, Neil Douglas (guitar), Suneal Pal (guitar) and Arun Pal (percussion, piano and vocals at the same time) take the sounds of rumba, flamenco, bossa nova, tango, jazz and rock and combine them with Latin, African and even some Middle Eastern rhythms.
Individually and as a band, members of The Latin Fusion Trio have worked with some of the best international artists including Order of Canada winner David Earle, African musician Prince Bulo, Juno nominated singer Alysha Brilla and award winning Latin artist Amanda Martinez. Each member has been studying and playing music professionally for over 20 years.
The Latin Fusion Trio has performed at the Oakville Jazz Festival, The Gig Theatre, Marsh Street Centre, the McMichael Art Gallery, Lula Lounge, Guelph Jazz Festival, The Registry Theatre, KW World Music Festival, MT Space Impact Festival, Latin Fest, the Elora Festival and The Garafraxa Theatre to mention a few. The Trio has also been on rotation at CBC Radio 1, CKWR as well as Jazz FM 91.1.
The Latin Fusion Trio released their 2nd CD, ‘Animato’ in 2010 and followed that with the release their 3rd CD in the fall of 2013 called ‘Pasion’. They were nominated for a KW Arts Award in 2012 and have ranked as high as #4 on the Toronto Reverb Nation Latin charts.
Their material includes original compositions as well as their own arrangements of music by Santana, Al DeMeola, Ottmar Liebert, Jesse Cook, Vincente Amigo, Michael Roberts and even Sting and The Eagles.
